Masasa Beach, Tingloy Island, Batangas
Just a heads up, Tingloy is somewhat a semi virgin island. It's rated as a 5th class municipality (2nd to the lowest class). Do not expect hotdogs and hamburgers from the island (lol). There's no 7 11, mini stop, and no electricity from 12MN to 12NN. Yep! No electricity. So be ready with your rechargeable lights, fans, and powerbanks.
There were no planning needed. He's from that island. He just asked me to get myself a rechargeable fan and canned goods.
From Buendia, we rode a bus going to Batangas City Port. Just ask the driver to drop you off the Batangas City Bus Terminal. Php300+ bus fare ([1]pax, back&forth). Travel time is approximately 2 hours. There's just 1 stop over for a bathroom break. Don't forget to bring snacks. ^_^
Once in Batangas City Bus terminal, you'll need to take a jeepney to Mabini. There are jeepneys there just waiting for passengers. The fare is to Mabini is Php35. Travel time is approximately 30-45 minutes depending on traffic.
Light house in Mabini Port
There's a port in Mabini. The boats there would bring you to Tingloy. Please note that last trip to the island is 1PM so better be there early.
And while waiting for the boat to depart.. You can have a halo-halo break.. like me :-P
Php60 boat ride tix and approximately 20 minutes boat ride.
And so we arrived. The island was gorgeous but with streets that aren't really feet friendly. Haha. Very steep! As if you're trekking. Remember to bring comfy shoes or slippers! :)
Street in Tingloy
Sooo tiring. :-P
We stayed in my friend's house but if you're a traveller who doesn't know anyone there, you may camp or stay in a resort. There are a number of camp sites and resorts there just near the port.
We spotted a camp site / resort just 15-20 mins. Away from the port.
There are a couple of attractions there like the "Mag Asawang Bato". It's rock formation on top of a hill. About 45 mins to 1 hour trekking. We didn't go for it though. I hate walking / trekking, sarry.
But i love the beach! So the next day, we went to the most beatiful beach in the island. If you're staying near the port, you may take a tricycle to Masasa. Php15 per ride. After the tricycle ride, you'd have to walk to the beach. About 15 minutes walk.
Sun down at Masasa
Morning at Masasa
Oh look, such a happy kiddo. :-P
Bring food and water, there are no stores nearby. No comfort room too so you'd go back to your camp wearing your wet clothes.
If you really love the nature and ocean, this is where you should go. The water was calm. It was so quiet too. I feel like I own the beach. Very relaxing.
Overall, the experience was great. Given the chance, I'd go back to that place and swim some more. I wanna camp there in Masasa and have BBQ or hotdogs. Maybe, get to that "Mag Asawang Bato" as well.
I love the experience.
Thank you for reading. May this be helpful and informative. ^_^
